If you want to look cool just get yourself inked with a cool tattoos because this is the thing that is attracting most of the youngsters these days. “Tattoos ….dont you think it’s crazy…exciting?” says Priyanka with eager smile.
One of the major inspirations being our own stars like Akshay Kumar, Esha deol, Deepika Padukone, Virat kohli and many more. With more and more stars getting inked it has become a craze among youngsters to get themselves inked in a cool tattoo. Having cool tattoos either on back or on wrist make them feel to be a part of fashion.
“Getting a tattoo on my waist was really exciting” says Anjana, 21, student of Delhi University, “I got my mother’s name tattooed on my waist as a symbol of my love for her and feeling her presence around me all the time” she adds. Many more girls and boys could easily be found in the crowd of Delhi University and other colleges in Delhi who are really crazy about getting themselves a rarest tattoos.
“Not only girls and boys are crazy or interested in getting a tattoo but we also have many customers between the ages 30 to 50 who are extremely interested in getting the tattoos” said Aman, 32, tattoo designer in GTB Nagar. The age is really not the matter of concern for following this cool trend according to today’s generation. Most likely tattoo designs being followed by the generation includes fairies, myntras, butterflies, slogans of their own or the initials of someone they love, as told by the tattoo makers. Spiritual and religious tattoos are largely being considered these days.
The change in trend of the society has also influenced the designs of tattoo. Firstly, people thought that it was only to be followed by junkies or say hippies but the trend has changed now. Previously popular Western and Japanese art making way for styles reflecting India’s rich and varied artistic, religious and cultural heritage, are a form identity and self-expression these days.
“In Mahabharat, Lord Krishna had done tattoo for his queen. In my friend circle of 10 people almost all of them have got tattoos and most of them had religious ones. Tattoos are documented in Vedas also and have influenced the young generation alot. Zeeshan, who is although a Muslim by religion but had a beautiful tattoo of “OM” on left hand. He is studying in abroad now but we enjoyed a lot while having a tattoo.” said Diwakar, 22, post-graduate student from DU.
Tattoo culture has attained glittering position among the modern crowd of India. It is getting bolder day by day to have a tattoo so are the places of having it. People are getting conscious day by day about the places of having a tattoo. Competition has been raised to heights of getting bolder and bolder day by day. Nimisha, 31, technical consultant at MNC, says that I found it bolder to get my tattoo on lower back. It’s a fairy symbolizing my freedom (showing her tattoo). People in metro cities are more concerned about getting a bolder place for their tattoos.
If a lot is happening over tattoos in India, how Indian stars can stay far from this. Akshay kumar got his son’s name tattooed on his shoulder in 2004 and how one can forget the controversial tattoo of Deepika Padukone on her neck that showed the initials of Ranbir Kapoor’s name “RK”. Tattoo has always been a craze among the stars. Priyanka Chopra recently got herself inked in love for her father, she got the tattoo on her right wrist saying Daddy’s girl.
“Although people love to have tattoos but it creates problem for them as they get older day by day. Skin diseases are always the result which cost more to you more, even more that you spent to get a tattoo.” says Vagya Kashyap, a medical student.
No matter what the result may be young generation still loves to have tattoos as the symbol of self-expression and their identity. They are ready to pay for it in future if they get the problem but following trends in tattoo is something they feel like “cool….really cool”.
